When I first starting surfing in 2005, I was frustrated with the lack of choices in women’s Surf Apparel.  There seemed to be 3 options:  a full, black wetsuit (way too hot for warm weather), a bikini (way too exposed) or some board shorts and rash guards emblazoned with pink hibiscus flowers (way too cutesy).  None of these offered what I wanted – great looking surfwear that was functional, comfortable and fit great!  Thus the wheels started turning and PHYN was conceived..

This capsule collection, is a hybrid of surf and swimwear.  Made from lightweight materials, it is seriously stylish yet provides a layer of protection;  the sun, board rash, or the occasional impact with something other than water!   Whether you wear our capri length sleeveless suit or mix it up with our bottoms and tops, PHYN is the best choice for the modern surfer and is perfect for all water sports.  The organic seam lines flatter all body types, leaving you confident to take on any challenge.

Lisa Flannery found her way into the fashion industry in the early 90’s while apprenticing with a dressmaker in Baltimore, MD.  Her experience making patterns and implementing old-world techniques by hand on one-of-a-kind pieces fueled her interest in the field, and inspired her to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.  After graduation, Lisa worked in various design capacities, honing her expertise in the fit process for prominent companies including Emanuel – Emanuel Ungaro, Magaschoni, Elie Tahari, Honor and Nautica.  From there was born a desire to create the clothes she envisioned herself wearing, and a freeing of her entrepreneurialism that was long in the making.  Lisa has furthered her expertise working in the International market since 2004, establishing a global fit while being especially aware of the different design needs of a changing and diverse world.
